Niyati Mehta was born into a family steeped in the gem and jewelry business for three generations. Her love and passion for art design and gems thus began at a very young age.

Growing up in Mumbai, India, she honed her natural interest by initially creating pieces for her family business at the age of 16. She later strengthened her expertise and artistry at GIA (Gemological Institute of America), and also taught jewelry design at GIA Mumbai and NYJDI in New York.

 

With almost 25 years of diverse experience in the jewelry industry, Niyati showcases her unique and artistic jewelry through NIYATI MEHTA DESIGNS, her company. Her imaginations and inspirations come from her comprehensive international cultural experiences, through art, fashion, history and her travels.
